Flip It...

I sat up in a state of piece last night. In my first home, kitchen clean, floors vacuumed, and everything just seemed like things were slowly coming together. I began reading different articles and blogs last night and I shot a series of tweets out concerning the quest for happiness. It all came from a VSB blog entitled, "10 Things I’d Tell My Teenage Daughter About Men, Dating, Relationships, And Sex." Number 3 on that list was very simple, yet profound, "When In Doubt, break up. Its clear that he was referring to relationships but I interpreted into to all situations. Here's what I mean...

The majority of my friends and my loyal, loving readers of this here blog are in their early to mid twenties. The Prime of Life, great things are going on: New jobs, cars, homes, engagements, new boos, etc. What impresses me the most about my friends is the fact that there is plenty of positiveness (its a word, i spellchecked it!) in our circle. They know what they want and are willing to go against the grain to ensure their OWN happiness. How many of you are willing to do the same? How many of you right are sitting right now in a horrible working environment, busted up car, crappy apartment, cold, loveless bed of a significant other, or in a city that you feel you have outgrown and you're better than?

Well if any of the above describe you, I have two words for you...FLIP IT! Yes, Flip It. I got this concept from my last head coach, he made this statement after every practice to our boys encouraging them not to dwell on the negative things but to continue working to better, more positive results. I started applying this concept to everyday life and not just the football field. FLIP IT! What's stopping you from obtaining your own happiness? What are you waiting for? Who is keeping you there? Like I tweeted last night, our 20s are a time for self-discovery, learning who we really are when the glitz and the comforts of undergrad are over. Who are we really and what do we have to offer? It's time to stop fearing popular opinion, naysayers, and contractors, because if you haven't noticed yet, people will hate on you REGARDLESS. So why won't you do whatever it takes in order for you to flip your life to where you desire it to be?

If people don't like you or your circle of friends shrinks once you flip it, I got two more words for them...F*#% It...

Progressing Daily, MCW
