Mansfield Wolverine Football Week 1

Week 1.

After months of widespread depression over all of the Shreveport-Bossier area, the Louisiana High School Football Season kicked off last night and the fans of those teams who played last night were finally able to take a collective sigh of relief that normalcy had reentered their lives.

Tonight at Independence Stadium, begins year 3 of leadership for Mike Green over the Wolverines of Mansfield High, where they have been on a steady climb under his tutelage. Year one saw 6 straight losses before turning it around for 4 wins, a District Title and a First Round Playoff game. Last year 7 wins and a Home Playoff game. After losing 20 plus seniors, the 2018 Version of the Wolverines will be bringing a young, but explosive squad to visit the Huntington Raiders who are led by Coach Stephen Dennis.

The Wolverines are led by Do-Everything Seniors Ken Addison, Robert Turner, Nick Howard and Davin Adkins. Under center for the Wolverines is Sophomore Dylon Robinson who has performed well in preseason structured scrimmages but along with 8 other new starters on offense, have not yet been battle tested.

The Raiders are led by Senior Quarterback Johnathon Crompton, a statuesque 6’4 with the arm strength and scrambling abilities to make any Defensive Coordinator lose sleep at night due to over preparation.

Have no fear ladies and gentlemen. The Wait is Over. High School Football is back and the Wolverines and Raiders will provide you with the prescription you need to set the stage for an amazing year of Mansfield Wolverine Football!
